Toledo’s 2022-23 women’s basketball season will go down as one of the best in program history. The Rockets won their 11th Mid-American Conference (MAC) Regular Season Championship and their ninth MAC Tournament title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. Toledo also captured its first NCAA Tournament win since 1996, defeating No. 5 seed Iowa State in first-round action. UT posted a 29-5 overall record, tying the school record for most wins in a season. Boasting one of the best women’s basketball fan bases in the country, Toledo led the MAC in attendance for the 32nd consecutive season and ranked among the Top 30 nationally in attendance for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons.

About Jane Roman-Irwin
Jane Roman-Irwin played basketball for the University of Toledo from 1989-1992 before becoming an assistant coach for five years from 1992-1997. During that span, Jane played or coached on five teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. In her three seasons as a player, The University of Toledo was 75-20 and competed in the 1991 and 1992 NCAA Tournaments. As an assistant coach under Bill Fennelly and Mark Ehlen, Jane was part of Rocket squads that finished 118-35 and made the NCAA Tournament in 1995, 1996 and 1997. She was inducted into The University of Toledo Hall of Fame in 2006.
Jane graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law in 2000 establishing a sole practice specializing in criminal defense representing individuals in State and Federal courts.
