Managed Services

Managed Services Business Model

Managed Services is a technology buzzword which refers to the manner in which computer related services are itemized and made available to the customer. Simply, as the complexity and number of elements increases our customers can contract for specific services that augment the skill of their own internal IT staff. The concept is to focus your own internal IT personnel on the mission critical functions and outsource the service components which you determine outside your core competencies. The return on investment comes from the concept that the solution provider is supplying these IT skills to a shared set of customers sharing in the cost of that expertise.

Managed Services Moving Forward

What we’ve learned with our small and medium sized business customers indicates the Managed Services can co-exist with a customers’ IT department. One does not necessarily supplant the other. And effective Managed Services providers know how to frame this particular discussion when they enter into a sales conversation with potential customers. The critical point to get across is that by taking over many common IT functions such as remote monitoring for the larger customer, the IT staff is then freed up to work on more strategic projects that drive revenue and profit for their business. In a small account, where no IT staff exist, we may act as the entire IT staff and assume all the IT responsibilities for the customer.
